How To: Install WordPress Manually

Don’t be afraid if you can’t install WordPress into your website. There are several ways to do it and manual installation of WordPress is one of them. No worries if you are not a tech savvy and doesn’t know the geek stuff on how to setup a database, file permission and FTP clients because I will help you out on how to do it.
Things you need before the WordPress Installation:
- Make sure you already have Webhosting account.
- Download the latest stable version of WordPress.
- If you don’t use Firefox as your browser, I strongly recommend to download and install the program.
- Download FireFTP, it will serve as your FTP Client.
Steps in installing WordPress
- Setup Database
- Login to cPanel.
- e.g. http://www.yoursite.com/cpanel
- Login to cPanel.
- Edit wp-config.php.
- Uploading WordPress files into your Web Server.
- Open FireFox browser. Choose Tools > Click FireFTP.

- Click Manage Account. Choose New… Account Manager window opens.
- Account Name: - any name will do.
Host: - yoursite.com
Login: - ** FTP Username
Password: - ** FTP Password
** ask your web host if you don’t know your FTP login account. - Select the account name > then click Connect.
- On the left pane look for the path in your computer where you save the WP files, then hightlight all the files. On the right pane, click on the folder where you want to upload the files, most of the time select public_html folder. Then click the arrow point to right to transfer files. It usually take around 5-10mins.

- Final Installation of WordPress.
