How To: Add a Free Page Peel Corner Ad Script in WordPress Theme

I was looking for a plugin that works like a Peel Corner Ads. If you don’t know what a Peel Corner Ad is, the image on the left is a sample of what I’m talking about. there’s a live demo here on my blog, just look on the top right hand side and you will notice a peel-like paper sheet that says “See Inside”. When I was searching for a WordPress plugin all I see was a PagePeel Script that you have to pay that ranges from $5 to $30. Since I’m being a cheapskate and doesn’t want to waste money for such a thing, I would like to thank adivorblog who wrote a PagePeel script for his released Adivor Ready Peel Theme. Get yours now, just follow the steps below.
If you don’t want to use his theme, I’ll just show you how you can also add his script on your blog.
- Download this Page Peel Script File and unzip it.
- Open the PagePeel folder and edit the PagePeel.js file.
- Edit your preferred url on the one that says ‘Type your link here’. - Create 2 image files, 1 small (75×75) and 1 big (500×500),
Look at the sample images for an idea inside the images folder. a psd file for big image is included to edit it in Photoshop. - Add a script tag in the body of your html page that points to pagepeel.js.
- Ex. <script src=”./pagepeel/PagePeel.js” type=”text/javascript”></script>
- Most of the time you add this code after the <body>. - Upload the PagePeel folder to the root of your server.
There are several ways to use this script.
- Boosting your feed subscriptions.
- A featured article on your blog that you want your readers to get notice.
- You can suggest this to your advertisers to use this to promote on your blog.
- A product you are endorsing and more…

Just a NOTE. The scripting tag should have a single ‘ NOT ” surrounding the URL and the Text/Script.
I am just a NOOB it took me forever to figure out WHY it wasn’t Working.

Is there a way to open the new page on the same window??
I was looking thru the code but it seems that there is no param to change the target, I think you can do that only editing the swf file! Is it like that? I hope I’m wrong!
